What It Is I Am Offering.

I offer not one but two of the only known recordings of Prince performing and singing on commercially aired radio jingles. I have tape and digital copies of the 2 different jingles from nearly 40yrs. ago.
No one knows Prince ever did a radio jingle. I also have the copy of his payment from AFTRA, as documentation and supporting provenance as well as a signed Certificate of Authenticity by Chris Moon.

How It Is I Own This Jingle

As Prince's producer, his first hit song writer, and the person that discovered the young artist in Mpls. in the mid 1970's, I spent a year developing him in my studio, MoonSound Studios.
During that time I produced many jingles, and these two are the ones I produced using Prince. On one, he played instruments and on the second he played AND sang. His style and voice are clearly identifiable as the one and only "Prince".

I Wrote Prince's 1st. Hit

Besides writing most of the songs that resulted in Prince being signed to Warner Brothers, I also wrote the first hit song for Prince which was named Soft & Wet.
Additionally, I packaged and marketed him, came up with the color Purple, the "sexual theme" of his songs and his name. At the time he refused to use Prince as his name, it was our longest and only disagreement, one I eventually won.

You may notice we do not provide a sample to listen to as no one else has ever heard these recordings unless they visited Chris Moon in person. Mr. Moon will play them ONLY in person to interested parties that either come to him or pay his expenses to come to them. This is what makes these jingles so rare and why you have never heard them.

Writing Songs With Prince

I discovered Prince when he was just 16 at my recording studio MOONSOUND STUDIOS in Minneapolis, MN back in 1977. For a year, he and I would sit on wooden stools across from each other in my studio and compose songs together. It was here I taught him how to write songs, how to record and produce. I wrote the words, he sang and played the music.

Back then, when Prince was just 16, I wrote the lyrics to nearly all of the music that was presented to Warner Brothers resulting in Prince securing one of the largest contracts ever for such a young artist. My discovery of Prince has been told in Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The BBC and numerous media channels worldwide. Below is a sample of one such media interview aired on REELZ.
